How to Enter into Gourmet Garlic Farming Now

Gourmet Garlic Farming is a booming business that is continuing to grow and there are many ways to profit from a garlic business. Although the crop can be grown successfully in a wide range of soil types and in almost any climate, it fares best in well-drained soils with a pH of between 6 and 7.5. Soils with high organic matter content are preferred, due to their increased moisture – and – nutrient – holding capacity.

Cultivars

Egyptian White, Egyptian Pink and Giant Garlic have been planted for many generations in South Africa and these cultivars have adapted well to local climates. For a better chance of a good crop, its important to stick to the correct planting time, from February to May. Good quality seeds forms the foundation of a good harvest.

Fertilizing

During its initial growth phase , as the plant emerges and spreads its leaves, the crop might require generous applications of nitrogen. Phosphorous should also be applied for optimal root development, and potassium added for leaf growth and healthy bulb formation.

Harvesting

Garlic is ready to be harvested when 30% of the plants on a land have turned brown and started dying down. Harvesting can be carried out manually or mechanically but should be done carefully to prevent damaging the bulbs. After the plants have been pulled from the soil, they are laid out in bunches to dry for up to 3 days and then hung in a cool, well-ventilated place. Once the lobes have dried out, the leaves can be cut off and the garlic is ready to be marketed. A huge advantage of growing garlic is its long shelf life; it can be stored for months at room temperature.

If you want to make money by growing garlic you need to grow what people want to buy. Avoid the standard garlic you’ll find in every supermarket, and grow only gourmet varieties, like Rocambole or Elephant garlic.

How to start with Raw Land Development now?

Raw land development is the process of purchasing a parcel of land with the intent of either developing and building on it or holding onto it for long – term appreciation. Raw land investing has an array of configurations but will essentially provide a multitude of advantages from other types of investments; whether it be from selling the property, renting it out for a passive income, or simply earning appreciation while performing little or no work.

Raw land is a limited resource, making it extremely valuable. If you purchase land in an area headed towards development and growth, there’s a chance your land can become worth even more. Investors looking to develop raw land should mind their due diligence and thoroughly educate themselves on the market where they plan to invest. The best way to do this is to pay attention to current market trends.

Benefits of Developing Land:

2. Sellers of raw land investments can be more likely find finance.

3. Purchase price and holding costs are lower with raw land.

4. The appreciation potential can remain high even with less than stellar market conditions.

5. There are countless development opportunities for raw land.

The process of developing raw land can be quite complex and involves several steps that include:

* Access to economic viability – First step is to determine whether the land is economically feasible for development.

* Determine the offer price – Determine the offer price by researching the local real estate market.

* Zoning – Find out what the land is zoned for. This will determine what type of building you can construct on the land.

* Finance – Secure financing before you begin the building process.

* Zoning Laws – Ensure that you are building within the zoning laws of the area and also obtain the required permits.

* Marketing – Once the building process is complete, you can begin marketing the land or property to potential buyers.

Although you could start and run your printing business on your own or with a partner, a better option might be to go the franchise route. Franchise Companies built up a good reputation in the printing industry. They also sourced the best deals for quality machinery and paper products, have good support systems in place and offer training on equipment and even business management. Furthermore, work can be outsourced between various branches and provinces thereby keeping it in the group and building on the group’s reputation as a professional unit.

OFFERING PROFITABLE SERVICES

Choose a Business Location

To start a profitable and successful printing business, you’ll need to choose a location that will work for you. Look for a place that is within your budget and that is easily accessible to customers. You can look at locations online or hire someone to help you find the perfect location for your business.

Turn printed items into products by creating a menu of what you offer.

When it comes to printing, most people or business owners don’t know exactly what they need. For example, a food manufacturer might think they need a traditional vinyl banner for an event but they don’t understand the pitfalls of using it in various scenarios. What they really need is a portable tabletop sign that can be utilized at events, sales meetings, and other public awareness activities. The more customers understand what a product can do, the happier they will be with the finished product.

Promote your new print shop.

Once you start a printing business, you need to get the word out to bring in sales. Join your local chamber of commerce, sponsor community events, and advertise in your local newspaper. Also, don’t forget to promote yourself online by building an effective website, participating in  industry forum discussions, and taking steps to distinguish yourself from local and nationwide competition.
